Travis Kelce, born October 5, 1989, is an American footballer. His full name is Travis Michael Kelce. He plays tight end and represents the Kansas City Chiefs team. His jersey number is 87. He has been considered one of the league’s top tight ends since 2013. He has won many awards for contributing to the National Football League (NFL). Kelce has eight Pro Bowl selections, five first-team All-Pro nods, and a Super Bowl ring. It is not the end; he has a whole list of awards. 

Early Life 

Travis Kelnce’s parents are Ed Kelce, a sales representative, and Donna, a former bank executive. He has a brother, Jason Kelce, who is an NFL footballer. He spent his childhood in  Cleveland Heights, Ohio. The spark in him related to sports has come from his parents. His father was a high school footballer, and his mother was a track and field athlete. Moreover, he completed his studies at Cleveland Heights High School, Ohio. In high school, he played basketball, football, baseball, and other games. However, he chose to make his career in football. The higher authorities selected him as the quarterback for the Tigers. 

After school, he received offers from the University of Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), and Akron. However, he selected the University of Cincinnati to build his career. 2008, he was redshirted, and his career took a turn. In 2009, he played 11 games in the tight end position. But, due to being drug-positive, he was suspended for a year. He made his comeback in 2011 and again in the tight end position. He was unable to give his best that year. Moreover, the next year was his college’s best year. In 2012, he caught more passes, receiving yards (722) and 8 touchdowns. This was more than any other year. 

Kelce got a special award for being the best tight end in college football. He also got a spot on the best college team in his conference.

Career and growth

Travis Kelce officially started his career in 2013 when the Chiefs selected him in the third round. But, due to his knee injury, he couldn’t play further, so he played only one game. However, he was questioned about the suspension of 2010. He received his first career touchdown, 862 yards, as a starter in 2014. Later, in 2015, the Chiefs selected him for the First Pro Bowl. In this tournament, he received 875 yards and 5 touchdowns. Next year, he signed a five-year contract, which led to him receiving 1125 tight ends. 

He was selected for the Second Pro Bowl selection and named as First-team All-Pro. Similarly, in 2017, he was selected for the Third Pro Bowl selection by winning 1,038 yards at tight end. His career was going further like this. In 2022, he tied the franchise record for receiving 4 touchdowns in a game. There, he broke the NFL record by receiving the most 100-yard receiving games (33). He became the fifth tight end to reach 10,000 career receiving yards. In 2023, he missed his first game due to injury. He ended his streak of seven consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. He also won his fourth Super Bowl (LIX).


Travis Kelce was not so popular on the topic of relationships until 2023. In September 2023, Travis and American Singer Taylor Swift confirmed their relationship. However, rumours had been sparked since July 2023, when Kelce attended Taylor’s concert in Kansas City. The couple seemed deep in love and captured, holding hand in hand.
